Spent The Day At Founders Today And Walked Away A Member. Got To See Something That Not Many Railfans Get To....

Between The Chassis Of A WF!

Started Painting DXC 5241 Today, Just In Time For The Arrival Of Jb 1236 [Jo-anne]. Jo anne Is From Holland And Is Actually A Ja, It Is A Plastic Model Created Using Shapeways, A Site Which Allows You To Upload Models And Have Them Printed. JB 1236 Ran An Excursion Through The Area I Am Modelling Last Year Thus An Excuse To Buy One. Ironically My Mother Is Also Called Jo Ann So My Loco Has Inherited Her Name Both In Honor Of Her And The Real Thing. The Model Has Turned Out Extremely And I Would Recomend Visiting This Link [http://www.shapeways.com/search?q=nz120] And Having A Browse. A Link To The Shapeways Homepage Can Be Found On The Links Page Of This Website. The Models Are Relatively Cheap, Shipping Is Like $20 And They Can Get Your Models To You In Two Weeks Or So. Now, Time For A Wab.

Visited A Friends Layout Over The Weekend And Was Interested To See Their Method For Building Hills. He Used Expanding Foam, And Plans To File And Shape The Giant Blobs Down To The Appropriate Shape And Size. Would Be Interesting To Find Out How It Works Out...
